The insight
Y60 owners were modding LCD screens into their cases. A built-in screen had to be interactive to be useful.
The hard call
The launch screens: 20,000 dead-stock ASUS 4K laptop panels, bought to last two years. They sold out in the first week.

03In my words
Y60 owners started modding non-touch LCD screens into their cases. If we were going to make that a product, it had to be interactive to be useful, and that meant building a software layer. So I founded our software team and led the electrical and software engineering that made the touchscreen viable. That layer became HYTE Nexus.
Expanding PC engagement beyond the build process.
Launch, October 2023
Before the Y70 we made the Y40, a more affordable way into the Y series. That project matured the design, function and experience far beyond the Y60, and we carried those lessons into the Y70. Not a single part is shared with the Y60. I wanted the empty case, which is how you see it when you're shopping, to look amazing: larger vents, a grommet redesigned as a showpiece that wraps around the motherboard, perspective lines radiating out from the CPU cutout, drive cages placed so our H-circle logo sits in the cutout, and a cutout edge shaped like the nucleus of the case. A mechanism up top raises or lowers the fan mount, so you can show the fans or hide them. We defined the limits of refinement on a PC case.
For the first screens we found dead stock: 4K touch panels made for a high-end ASUS laptop. We bought 20,000, expecting them to last two years as our halo SKU. They sold out in the first week. The touch version outsold the non-touch Y70, even as the most expensive case on the market, and we went on to sell more than 300,000. NVIDIA, AMD and Intel used it in keynotes, ads and media because it was the most refined stage their high-end parts could stand on.

CES 2025
The Y70 also crossed over to people who had never owned a gaming PC. It looked more like home furniture than a scary technical computer. Coming out of COVID, women and teenagers were building incredible PCs in it and theming them to their rooms as a total expression of self. Our strawberry milk, taro milk and blueberry milk colorways exploded, and we became THE pink and purple case.

HYTE Releases the Latest Addition to its Y-Series of Cases, the New Y70 Touch
LOS ANGELES, CALIF., OCT. 24, 2023 - HYTE, a leading manufacturer of cutting-edge PC components and peripherals, is excited to release the new Y70 Touch, the latest addition to its signature Y-Series cases featuring a vibrant 14.1” 1100 x 3840 capacitive touchscreen integrated into the corner panel.

Integrated Touchscreen
A larger rendition of HYTE’s viral Y60, Y70 Touch takes interactivity and immersion in a PC case to new lengths. Its 10-point multi-touchscreen with 283 pixels per inch comes pre-installed and provides an incredibly crisp and smooth visual experience allowing users to continuously engage with the PC long after the build process is complete.
Customization of the Y70 Touch is made possible via HYTE Nexus Touch. With a plethora of exciting widgets for a personal digital experience, users can monitor system performance, engage with Twitch chat, play games, display Google calendar, the weather, and time, quickly write notes and more, all from the corner of the Y70 Touch.
Ginormous Cooling Capacity
The iconic HYTE Y-series ventilation pattern continues with the Y70 Touch and has been optimized with lower impedance for increased airflow and cooling capacity. Up to a 360mm radiator can be mounted to the side and the adjustable top bracket of the case, while up to a 180mm air cooler can be mounted comfortably within the Y70 Touch. To further increase airflow, users can mount up to three 120mm fans in the Y70 Touch basement to provide a direct stream of cooling to the graphics card (GPU).
Unified Modern Aesthetic
Y70 Touch is available in four color combinations, including: Snow White (white/white), white/black, red/black, and black. The included PCIe 4.0 riser cable with a color matched canopy, for uninterrupted visual flow, enables exclusive vertical GPU mounting of up to a four-slot card to accommodate the largest and most powerful cards. For additional hardware support, seven half-height horizontal PCIe slots are available behind the GPU.
Y70 Touch takes on a dual chamber interior layout to create the optimal component showcase in the front and provides ample space in the rear for easy cable management. The tool-less top and side panels of the Y70 Touch make upgrades and maintenance easy and enable users to create a hybrid, open frame design, with the removal of the glass panels. Seamless L-shaped molded rubber grommets have been integrated around the motherboard tray, virtually disappearing into the case, for a cohesive look while reusable Velcro straps, meticulously placed routing channels, and tie down points ensure the rear of the case looks as beautiful as the front.
